For the sole use of BIA Members, BIA has published competitive materials sheets to provide a better understanding of other exterior finishes likely to be encountered as alternatives to brick veneer. These materials sheets are concise, information-packed documents that assist in credibly selling clay brick against other major cladding materials. They contain:
- a definition of the competitive material, as well as both of the materials' relative strengths and weaknesses;
- a graphic, visual diagram depicting key components of the material's use; and
- numerous counter-arguments that can be used by brick professionals to off-set claims made by advocates of the competitive materials.
Access to these documents requires the use of your BIA Member gobrick.com password.

Technical Notes
Technical Notes on Brick Construction serve as the authoritative compendium of expert, scientific - yet practical - guidance on the use of brick masonry. These documents are available to everyone visiting gobrick.com. Brick
Briefs
Aimed primarily at homeowners, builders and contractors, Brick Briefs
are short discussions of specific topics related chiefly to the design,
construction, and maintenance of brick masonry. Most of the topics relate
to residential construction.
Formerly known as E&R Digests, the series was renamed in 2005
to better reflect the scope and length and is written in a format that
is friendlier to non-technical users than the Technical Notes. Each
Brick Brief has been revised and includes updated or new information
and figures.
These documents also are available to everyone visiting gobrick.com..
